Retford Art Society’s Spring Exhibition is still open and full of the most wonderful paintings, with several still for sale. Don’t miss the craft sector, where beautiful hand-painted cards are available for purchase.
The exhibition has proven very popular, with a steady stream of visitors, and will stay open until Saturday 10th May, from 10.00am until 4.00pm. The venue is the Grove Street Methodist Chapel, where refreshments will also be available.
On Thursday 29th May, Stephen Coates will give a talk and demonstration entitled Vision and Composition in Art. He is a popular artist and will give his talk in the evening at 7.00pm in the Swan Studio. The cost is £7.00 for members and £10.00 for non-members.
Life drawing sessions continue in the evening in the Swan Studio from 7.00pm until 9.00pm. The dates this month are Wednesday 7th May and Wednesday 21st May. The cost is £7.00 for members and £10.00 for non-members.
Finally, the Swan Studio will be open every Tuesday evening from 7.00pm to 9.00pm and Friday afternoons from 2.00pm to 4.00pm. These sessions are becoming increasingly popular. There is no charge, and non-members can expect a warm welcome and encouragement. The Swan Studio is located at the bottom of Carolgate, underneath the arch and above the bike shop.
