Retford Art Society’s Spring Exhibition opens on Monday 28th April from 10.00am until 4.00pm. Once again, it will be held in the beautiful venue of Grove Street Methodist Chapel and will continue until Saturday 10th May.
To hang a picture, membership of the society is required, with an annual fee of £35.00. To apply for membership, please email retfordartsociety@yahoo.co.uk. Visitors are encouraged to go and see the amazing artwork created by members, many of which are inspired by the beautiful local area.
The next workshop will take place on Saturday 3rd May at St Saviour’s Community Centre from 10.00am until 3.00pm. Kay Power will lead the session with the challenging theme Behind the Mirror, encouraging participants to create an abstract piece using their preferred medium. The cost is £25.00 for members and £30.00 for non-members.
Life drawing sessions continue in the evening at the Swan Studio from 7.00pm until 9.00pm. This month’s sessions will take place on Wednesday 9th April and Wednesday 23rd April. The cost is £7.00 for members and £10.00 for non-members.
The Swan Studio is also open every Tuesday evening from 7.00pm to 9.00pm and every Friday afternoon from 2.00pm to 4.00pm. These sessions are becoming increasingly popular, and there is no charge. Non-members are welcome to attend and can expect a warm welcome and encouragement. The studio is located at the bottom of Carolgate, underneath the arch and above the bike shop.
