Retford Art Society’s second exhibition this year was successful, with artists able to showcase even more pictures. The Society looks forward to hosting two exhibitions again next year at the Grove Street Methodist Chapel.
At each exhibition, visitors are invited to choose their favourite picture, and the winner receives a generous cash prize to assist with the cost of painting materials. This prize is kindly donated by ‘Uncle’ Gordon Goodison, and the Society expresses its gratitude for his generosity when the winner is announced at the end of each exhibition.
The communal painting sessions at The Swan Studio will be closed for December and January, but they hope to resume in February. These sessions are open to both members and non-members, free of charge.
The committee is currently planning next year’s activities, and the Society looks forward to seeing what is in store. More details will be available in the New Year, and the date for the AGM will be announced soon.
