Have you ever wanted to paint wild animals, but do not know how to start?

Annie Turner, a member of the Retford Art Society, is going to show you that it is easier than you think.

She is giving her demonstration on Thursday 29th February in the Swan Studio at 7.00pm. The Swan Studio is at the bottom of Carolgate – go through the arch beside STA, then up the stairs over the bike shop. Non-members are welcome. To be sure of a place book in by email at walkerjilly@outlook.com.

Normally the Swan Studio would reopen on Tuesday 6th February for the weekly evening painting sessions from 7.00pm to 9.00pm, and on Friday 9th for the afternoon session from 2.00pm to 4.00pm, but they are having a major lighting refurbishment by local firm Judge Electrical.

Opening sessions will be postponed to the following week, Tuesday 13th and Friday 16th February. Once again newcomers are welcome and you can expect help.

The AGM is on 7th March in St Saviour’s Community Centre at 6.00pm. There will be a lot to think about with an exciting new venue for the exhibition in the Grove Street Methodist Church. It will run for two weeks from 27th April to 11th May. Art Society members look forward to a collaboration with them.
