Rampton Hospital volunteering opportunities

by | 15 May 2019 | Gainsborough, Notice, Retford

At Rampton Hospital they welcome new enthusiastic volunteers to visit patients who have very little or no contact with friends or family. They are continually striving to recruit more people of varied ethnicities and backgrounds.
Can you commit up to two hours per month to visit one of their many patients? Are you a good listener with a good general knowledge to hold an interesting conversation, do you have interests you could talk about and share with a patient; would you be able to bring the outside in? If so, they would love to hear from you.

All volunteers have to attend three training days at the hospital to enable them to join the volunteer befrienders’ scheme and you will also need to complete a DBS (CRB) check. Two satisfactory references will be sought. All volunteers will have ongoing support from the Volunteer Service Staff throughout their time of being a volunteer befriender. Personal mileage and public transport fares are reimbursed.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer please contact Jo Padley, Volunteer Coordinator, via email to jo-anne.padley@nottshc.nhs.uk or call 01777 247539.
