Morton Nurseries, Mansfield Road, Morton near Retford, is celebrating after winning a top Premier Gold Award at the Harrogate Spring Flower Show. The judges were wowed by the display of colourful and unusual plant material (all available at the nursery) galvanised accessories and a wire cat and dog.
Gill McMasters and Gail Penman own the nursery which re-located nearly four years ago into an open field near Babworth and is now landscaped for people to visit. Sheila Clark, a friend and flower arranger, helps with the display and has a good eye for colour points, shape and texture of the plant material. The blossom on the trees and shrubs just came out in time for the judging, everything came together to give the judges an exciting and interesting exhibit.
