Retford Library is excited to be welcoming Nottinghamshire Performance Poet Andrew Graves to perform some of his work at a special event on Thursday 28th March at 7.00pm. Andrew regularly performs his work throughout the UK. He has appeared on TV and radio on a number of occasions, being featured on 6 Music’s Cerys Mathews Show, Inside Out and the documentary Evidently John Cooper Clarke. His first full collection, ‘Light at the end of the Tenner’, was published in 2014 and his latest collection ‘God Save the Teen’ was released last year. He has performed with the likes of Sleaford Mods, John Hegley and Henry Normal and has been commissioned by the National Portrait Gallery, BBC Radio 4 and the Edinburgh International Literature Festival.
He recently represented the East Midlands for National Poetry Day and is currently on tour with his book and show God Save the Teen. His work is raw and gritty, containing a dose of adroit comedy that champions the underdogs and underclass. He is truly a troubled poet for troubled times. Booking is essential. Tickets are £3.00 and can be booked online at www.inspireculture.org.uk or by contacting Retford Library.
