Pies, Peas and Performances

After an enforced hiatus, Pies, Peas and Performances returns to promoting regular music events in an informal setting at St Saviour’s Community Centre, Retford.

If you’ve been before you’ll know the unique atmosphere and charm of these events. If you haven’t, do go along – you’ll love it! Locally-sourced pies (Westlands Farm Shop) are served as part of the evening. There is no bar, so do bring your own drinks and enjoy the music on offer. National treasures and international artists do come to Retford.

In this case, the wonderful Ian Prowse returns on Saturday 26th February with songs of power and passion from his days as front man of Pele and Amsterdam, as well as previewing new material from the new release.

Catch Ian before he sets off on a full band UK tour in spring and then as special guest of Elvis Costello in the summer – all to promote the new LP ‘One Hand on the Starry Plough’.

Doors open at 7.00pm, with the show starting at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £15.00 (including pies and peas!) and are available from More Than Flowers, Wonderland Bookshop or online at www.wegottickets.com. The event also supports the local foodbank, so any donations would be welcome.

Look out also for the next event: Boo Hewerdine and Brooks Williams on Saturday 19th March. Further details can be found on the Pies, Peas and Performances Facebook page.
