Bassetlaw’s popular town centre music festival Party in the Square will return to Retford Market Square on August Bank Holiday Sunday, with a packed programme of free family-filled music entertainment announced.
Now in its fourth year, the North Notts BID event has become a memorable day in the calendar for the district, bringing together well-known local artists and leading tribute performers for an afternoon of partying in the Bank Holiday sun.
Three-piece Take That tribute ‘Rule The World’ has been announced as the headliner for this year’s event, with Spice Girls tribute group ‘Spice Forever’ and Dua Lipa tribute ‘Dua Live’ also added to the billing. Familiar faces returning to the event include family harmony group ‘The Bowkers’ and DJ Tim Asher – who will be playing a selection of hits as crowds dance into the evening.
Sally Gillborn, chief executive of North Notts BID, said: “Party in the Square has established itself as a landmark event in the calendars of families in the district and we’re proud to continue to deliver this as a free offering – bringing together as many people from our community as possible, and those from further afield, to enjoy a great day of musical festivities.
“The event has become key for driving crowds into Retford and supporting local businesses, particularly during tough economic times. As always with our events, we want people to take advantage of the fantastic range of food and drink offerings that will be available at the hospitality venues nearby and artisan food stalls available on the day.”
The event will be held in Retford Market Square from 2.00pm to 7.30pm on Sunday 27th August. For the latest updates, visit the Party in the Square Facebook event page.
