Ordsall Scarecrow Festival

by | 12 August 2022 | Community Event, Retford

The ever-popular Ordsall Scarecrow Festival is back over the weekend of 10th and 11th September.
This will be the 14th year that the Festival has been held and organisers hope that it will again bring out crowds of scarecrow spotters.

Proceeds will again be going to support the Parish Hall on Church Lane in Ordsall but the benefits of building a sense of community and celebrating the creativity and talents of local people are much more widespread.

The golden festival maps will be going on sale at the start of September, and these will show you where to look for the scarecrows dotted throughout Ordsall and south Retford. The maps are also the way that the public get to vote for their favourite scarecrows and help to pick this year’s champion scarecrows.

Entries into the individual and group classes are invited, and organisers are keen to see as many scarecrows as possible listed on the festival maps.

There is still time to register a scarecrow into this year’s Festival. Register via email to allhallowsordsall@hotmail.co.uk or by completing a paper registration form available in the porch of Ordsall Church.

You have until 20th August to register your scarecrow to be part of this year’s Ordsall Scarecrow Festival but remember, your scarecrow doesn’t need to be ready to go out on display until the morning of Scarecrow Saturday!
