Operation Christmas Child 2020

by | 1 November 2020 | Community facility, Retford

The Well, Hospital Road, Retford DN22 7BD has been agreed as a collection point and drop off centre for Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes again this year, following all Government guidelines and working within the campaign’s risk assessments. They will be accepting shoeboxes between Monday 9th and Friday 13th November and on Monday 16th November, between 9.30am and 4.30pm each day. On these dates you will be able to pop your boxes down to church, be greeted by some awesome volunteers socially distancing, place your box(es) in a carton and leave your details.
With the pandemic hitting all areas of the world, along with political unrest and national disasters there are so many children in need of knowing they are not forgotten this Christmas.
So, it’s time for you to start packing your shoeboxes. There are some flat pack boxes at The Well (50p each). If you want to collect one or more please call the office first (01777 702344) or email admin@thewellrbc.org or angela@thewellrbc.org to check if or when someone will be in the building for you to go, as it isn’t open all the time as you will be aware. You will also need the correct amount of cash to pay for the boxes as no change can be given.
All the details about packing a box, labels required and ideas can be found on www.operationchristmaschild.org.uk or www.samaritans-purse.org.uk. If you want to be part of the campaign, but are not able to visit the shops you can build an online box instead. Thanks to you all.
