This month marks a special milestone for NottAlone, Nottinghamshire’s dedicated mental health hub, as it celebrates four years of service to our local communities.
Launched in 2021, NottAlone.org.uk has become a trusted go-to for free, local, and accredited mental health services across Nottinghamshire and Nottingham City. Whether you’re looking for everyday wellbeing tips, urgent support, or guidance on how to help someone else, NottAlone offers a wealth of advice and resources tailored to individuals, families, carers, and professionals.
What started as a resource specifically for children and young people has grown into a vital service for people of all ages. Over the past four years, NottAlone has:
- Brought young people and local services together through NottAlone LIVE an annual mental health event where hundreds of local pupils come together to learn and talk about mental health and wellbeing featuring workshops and performances by Nottingham based artists.
- Equipped educators with Senior Mental Health Lead training, helping schools and colleges better support their students.
- Launched a podcast that tackles any and all mental health topics with honesty and heart.
- Attended pop up events across the county to meet local communities and get people involved in mental health conversations.
The NottAlone Podcast, hosted by co-founders Dr Orlaith Green and Dr Maddi Popoola, is available to stream on all major podcast platforms and via the NottAlone website. Series one focuses on children and young people’s mental health, whilst series two explores themes like grief after suicide, the mental load of motherhood, gambling and addiction, burnout in the workplace and more.
At its heart, NottAlone is about breaking the silence around mental health, encouraging us to talk—whether that’s with a friend, family member, colleague or a professional.
