The April meeting of the North Notts Local Group of the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust will feature a talk by Sally Keys. Sally and her husband, Michael, live on a farm near Newark which they have spent years developing into a haven for wildlife. Sally and Michael bought derelict Devon Farm in 1991 when they were both working full time, Sally as a therapy radiographer and Michael as a design engineer. Neither had any expertise in horticulture or wildlife conservation, nevertheless they enthusiastically set about renovating the house for themselves and managing the land for the wildlife they care so much about. Sally will tell the group about the setbacks and successes of their ambitious venture.
The AGM of the North Notts group will also be conducted at this meeting. The group is seeking new committee members. If you wish to put your name forward for election (or anyone else’s provided you have their permission) please email Jan with your contact details, a brief description of your relevant experience and how you can contribute to the work of the group.
This meeting will be held in the Rural Learning Centre at the Idle Valley, North Road (A638), Retford DN22 8RQ on 11th April. It starts at 7.30pm. Admission is £2.50, which includes refreshments. All are welcome, including non-members.
