Following the annual Christmas concert in early December at Worksop College and a break for the festive season, North Notts Chamber Choir will be returning for its first rehearsal on 9th January to start preparing for the Spring Concert (to be held at the same venue on 24th March).
The programme for the Spring Concert will be a combination of the old and the new. The first half will be the splendour of Mozart’s Coronation Mass, first performed in 1779, whilst the second half comprises John Rutter’s Feel the Spirit, a cycle of seven familiar spirituals arranged in his own inimitable style and first published in 2016.
The choir and soloists will be accompanied by the Mountgarret Orchestra, all under the baton of Musical Director Tim Uglow.
The choir, formed in 1996, is always keen to welcome new members and by way of an introduction to the choir and its members there is an Open Rehearsal Evening on Tuesday 23rd January, 7.30pm at the rehearsal room in Worksop College.
The evening is open to all who are interested in joining or who are just tentative and curious. The format of the evening will be in part the rehearsing of the music for the Spring Concert with the remaining part of the evening socialising with a glass of wine and some light refreshment, giving time to talk to the choir’s existing members.
If you would like to register your interest in the Open Evening, email firstname.lastname@example.org for details of how to join the evening.
