T’ai Chi classes at North and South Wheatley Village Hall celebrate their first anniversary this month. The activity takes place on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 2.00pm to 3.00pm. Classes cost just £5.00, on a pay as you go basis. The class is taught by Chris, who practises the Lee Style T’ai Chi Form. This consists of 140 slow, gentle and circular movements. Chris is passionate about T’ai Chi and he plans a variety of activities for each session. Class size is not too big so we are guaranteed personal attention and support every lesson.
The controlled movements of T’ai Chi can significantly improve balance and coordination and promote flexibility and range of motion, making it beneficial for people of all ages and fitness levels. The mindful movement and breathing techniques can help reduce stress and promote relaxation. T’ai Chi can improve focus and mental clarity, making it a valuable tool for stress management and cognitive function.
The practice of T’ai Chi has been linked with strengthening the immune system and promoting overall wellbeing, but more research is needed to fully understand the effects of T’ai Chi on immunity and its potential to improve the body’s anti-inflammatory capacity.
The Village Hall is available for hire for functions such as children’s parties, receptions and meetings. It may be possible to run a bar for private events if desired. Please check when making your booking. If you wish to hire the hall, contact Kerry at booking.wheatleyvillagehall@gmail.com.
