North and South Wheatley Village Hall has undergone significant improvements in recent months. Solar panels have been installed with the assistance of a decarbonisation grant from Bassetlaw District Council, and loft insulation has been upgraded with financial support from North and South Wheatley Parish Council and Councillor John Ogle. The committee room and bar area have also been redecorated to create a more welcoming environment.
The Village Hall is available for hire for functions such as children’s parties, receptions, and meetings. A bar may be available for private events if required—please confirm when booking. To hire the hall, contact Kerry at booking.wheatleyvillagehall@gmail.com.
Regular classes at the Village Hall include T’ai Chi, Line Dancing, Pilates, and occasional glass fusion workshops. There is a weekly Thursday quiz night, a monthly Gardening Club, a Table Tennis Club, and a Family and Local History Group. The hall also hosts ‘Food and Drink Fridays’ – a monthly opportunity to socialise in the bar and meet neighbours. Various fundraising events are held to maintain and improve the hall.

- Jonny and Lynnette: Saturday 5th April, 7.30pm. An evening of fine and fun country music. Tickets £15.00, including supper.
- Food and Drink Friday: Twisted Pig – Friday 11th April, 5.00pm to 8.00pm. Enjoy a selection of burgers and fries, accompanied by drinks in the bar. Just turn up.
- Food and Drink Friday: Carrie’s Indian Bites – Friday 2nd May, 5.00pm to 8.00pm. A selection of Indian cuisine, served alongside drinks in the bar. Just turn up.
- North and South Wheatley Walking Treasure Hunt: Bank Holiday Monday 5th May, 1.00pm. Explore the village, discover interesting landmarks, and enjoy afternoon tea at the village hall. The bar will open at 3.30pm. Ticket prices: £8.00 for adults, £5.00 for under-14s, and free for under-5s.
- Summer Coffee Morning: Saturday 21st June, 10.00am to 12.00pm. Refreshments, stalls, and a raffle. Free entry, no booking required.
