Slight changes to the Government’s guidance in respect of village and community halls, which was published at the end of 2021, has resulted in the reintroduction of mandatory face coverings being worn while using North and South Wheatley Village Hall. Fortunately, the guidance did not require the closure of village halls so, when the committee meets in January, it will be discussing and planning a programme of events for 2022 and keeping fingers crossed that they shall be able to go ahead! All events will be planned with a degree of caution to ensure those using the hall feel comfortable and safe.
Coffee mornings and a Race Night held last year were very well-attended and the committee is hopeful this support will continue. Activities will be posted on www.wheatleyvillagehall.co.uk.
At its January meeting, the committee will also be discussing the hourly rate for bookings. The 50% reduction will continue until the end of January.
In addition to events by the Village Hall committee, don’t forget the hall is available for hire for:
- Clubs and hobby or special interest groups that would like a spacious and comfortable space to meet
- Sport or fitness groups that need an indoor area
- Adult and children’s parties
Normal full rates are £12.00 for the main hall and £8.50 for the committee room per hour. Please note that these rates are fully inclusive and include full kitchen facilities, stage with stage curtains and lighting, audio-visual system with overhead projector and dropdown screen, full sound-system, Wi-Fi etc.
