New home, new times

The Dukeries Woodturning Society’s meetings are moving to a new venue in January. In the last year, the society has grown in numbers and the change will enable everyone to sit in comfort and have a better view of the demonstrations. Future meetings will be held at the Jubilee Hall, Ollerton on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7.00pm.
The new venue will enable the Society to welcome even more members and it is hoped that people who found the previous venue too cramped will come and give the group another try.

The group has its own lathe and each month a professional demonstrator comes to show how they produce their work. A video system enables them to show close ups of the work in progress on a screen, so everyone has a bird’s eye view as good as the turner’s. Refreshments are available in the break and provide an opportunity to get to know other members who share this hobby.

The new membership year begins in January, so what better time to come along? Your first visit is free and after you have joined it costs just £5.00 a time. Please make a note in your new diary to come and join members at The Jubilee Hall, Wellow Road, Ollerton on Wednesday 24th January at 7.00pm. The society looks forward to welcoming new and returning members there.

Monthly meetings continue throughout the year. For more information about the programme or the Society, please see www.dukerieswoodturning.org.uk or call 01777 870844.
