Muddy Fork are delighted to have received a significant grant for core funding from Nottinghamshire County Council’s Local Improvement Scheme. Muddy Fork is Nottinghamshire’s very own home-grown mental health charity. Based in Bassetlaw on the Idle Valley Nature Reserve near Retford, it supports people with mental health challenges through gardening and wildlife-friendly activities such as basket making and beekeeping. The grant is for £4,000 per year for three years, thus enabling a significant portion of core funding requirements to be met.
“This is brilliant news”, says Dom Schad, project director. “It will provide our free service with a key ingredient for sustaining and growing the project. With spring well under way in the garden, and with a growing demand for our service, we’d like to thank the County Council and the LIS team for this wonderful and timely support.” Muddy Fork are always keen to hear ideas for financial sustainability, and one of the ways they hope to achieve this is through their Wellbeing for Work program. This helps employers to support their employees needing therapeutic time out or who need a supported way back into work. Donations, grants and offers of sponsorship are also much welcomed!
