The Grove and Hallcroft Methodist Churches form the Methodist presence in Retford. Although working together, they are separate units, joining together for some services, to support, to socialise, to share, to work and join for special times.
During May, The Grove saw a large array of artistic talent being displayed, hosting Retford Art Society and their exhibition and an exhibition of art work with the theme ‘peace’ produced by school children for a competition and organised by The Rotary Club of Retford.
More culture was experienced during June at Retford Book Festival, with events throughout Retford including at The Grove.
What is a better way to meet friends than that over a cup of tea (or coffee if you prefer)? The Grove and Hallcroft offer several opportunities to do just this. At The Grove, you will find the kettle on, on a Saturday during elevenses (10.00am to 12.00pm) or, if you are wanting something a little more substantial, there is Thursday lunches where you can get a hot meal and pudding. At Hallcroft Methodist Church, you will always find a warm welcome at their Thursday Coffee Mornings which are open throughout the summer. Tuesday Fellowship Group, however, will be taking a break until the beginning of September.
Sunday Services
Sunday services are held each week – see their website for details.
Get ready for Bible Month. During August, all of the services at The Grove and Hallcroft Methodist Churches will focus on one particular book of the Bible – the Gospel of John. There will also be Saturday morning sessions at The Grove to look together at some of the key themes of this Gospel. Please contact Rev’d Julie Coates for more details on 01777 702573.
