Following the opening of the fabulous new community venue in West Markham, it has been a hectic few weeks at the Markham Clinton Community Project with art classes, ‘Cuppa & Cake’ mornings and a very popular Quiz Night. The busyness looks set to continue into spring and summer.
The Quiz Night returns on Friday 14th April at the Pub With No Beer. Soft drinks and snacks are available, but please bring your own alcohol! Teams of up to four (you may be able to join a team if you don’t have one). Quiz Master John Lambert. £1.00 per person. Please let organisers know if you plan to attend the quiz by calling or messaging Victoria on 07866 416269.
The Pilgrims and Prophets ‘Walk with Talk’ on Sundays 22nd and 29th April will be two to three miles, and will run from 10.00am to approximately 12.30pm. Refreshments at All Saints Church, West Markham.
Local Historian Adrian Gray will lead, starting at Milton Mausoleum and including West Markham’s ancient church and surrounding lanes. Visit the Duke of Newcastle’s Mausoleum and West Markham Church (a remarkable Saxon survival), see the ‘lost’ medieval village site, explore some of the area’s best ‘sunken lanes’ and hear some tales of life in the old days.
Reserve by email at talksandtours@gmail.com or phone Maggy on 07950 167821, including your contact details. Tickets cost £8.50 per person.
