Markham Clinton Community Project

All Saints Church West Markham continues to thrive, with record numbers attending events. They always welcome visitors and have had many of them over the spring period.

One of the many interesting historic items that draws visitors is the 11th century Norman Tub Font. The carvings on it are fascinating and are believed to depict some of the apostles, together with Mary holding the baby Jesus and St Anne (the mother of Mary) holding a book. Although this historic font is no longer used for Baptisms, it can still be seen as you enter via the main door.

Visitors are always welcome and the very supportive PCC, Brian Smethurst (Treasurer), Pauline Holt (Secretary), Cindy Bradley, Victoria Keiller, Hugh Kisby, or Victoria Hayton (Church Warden) are always happy to open the church and show you round, or you could just attend one of the church services or church functions. All Saints West Markham is a light, airy, beautiful venue for a Wedding or a Baptism, with picturesque grounds and ample parking.

Whatever faith you belong to, or indeed non-believers, the church is a wonderful place for quiet contemplation, providing a calming oasis in our busy daily lives and they need your support to keep churches open. All Saints and Markham Clinton Community Project (MCCP) would like to thank all those people who are already doing their bit to hang on to these precious buildings, if everyone helps just a little in their own way, we can preserve them for future generations.
