Following the lifting of certain lockdown restrictions, the RSPCA Doncaster, Rotherham and District Branch are delighted that they can now offer an appointment only service at their Animal Centre for potential adopters to meet the animals in their care. They have new processes in place – please see their website www.rspcadoncasterrotherham.org.uk – to protect the health and safety of the animal, adopters and the team.
The other good news is that their charity shops at Rossington and Thorne are open for business and Bawtry and Maltby open on 1st August. They are happy to accept donations from all of your decluttering during lockdown!
With the current situation, the branch are seeing an increase in stray and abandoned animals being brought into their care, many requiring veterinary treatment or additional support. Throughout lockdown, their animal centre team has worked hard to provide care for many vulnerable animals.
Like many organisations, things have been tough at RSPCA Doncaster, Rotherham and District Branch over the past couple of months. They recently wrote about how their income had reduced by 95% due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They have been overwhelmed by the response and generosity of their supporters but there is a long way still to go.
There are many ways to help them deliver their mission to rehome and rehabilitate animals during this time including donating cash or goods, sponsoring through their Safe Haven programme, leaving a legacy, and at the Animal Centre they have a pet supplies store on site for all your requirements. They also provide a pet cremation service and a memorial garden for your beloved pets. To donate £5.00, text ‘RSPCADRB’ to 70085.
