Now the excitement of summer has passed, your thoughts may be turning to starting something new and challenging to fill your time. Volunteering for a local charity is a fantastic way to meet new people and learn new skills. RSPCA South Yorkshire Animal Centre, near Bawtry, has some vacancies, which may appeal to you.
The local RSPCA is looking for a trustee, who can make lasting links with local businesses, providing opportunities for the animal centre to gain support for their vital rehabilitation and rehoming work. If you have a strong network of local business contacts, feel passionately about their work fighting animal cruelty and could provide the link between the animal centre and local business, then you could help the charity expand further.
Your volunteering skills may lie in a more practical direction? The centre would love to hear from anyone who can turn their hand to gardening and general maintenance tasks. The site is based in a rural area, which needs round the year attention. The time and attention you could give the grounds will be key in maintaining the high standards the charity has for its centre.
If you are interested, please send an email to email@example.com. The animal centre looks forward to hearing from you.
The animal centre team re-homes hundreds of rescue animals each year. The charity’s mission is to rehabilitate and rehome vulnerable animals and this rehabilitation and re-homing work relies on kind donations from the public. Proceeds from events that the local branch of the RSPCA organises and donations/sales at its charity shops provide the necessary funding. Visit www.rspcadoncasterrotherham.org.uk for more information.
