The 1st May in France is a day celebrated not just as Labour Day but as an occasion to offer a sprig of lily-of-the-valley (le muguet du bois) to friends and family.
Les Francophiles de Tickhill’s own celebration is to be held two days later on Wednesday 3rd May at 7.30pm in the Parish Room, Tickhill DN11 9HZ. This will consist of a brief AGM to receive reports and elect officers. Following this, there will be entertainment provided by members of the current committee. We particularly look forward to a talk about Louis Braille by Liz Frankland, our Vice-Chairperson.
Visitors are welcome at a charge of £3. Refreshments are included. For further details contact Janet Erridge on 01302 745281.
