On 1st May Les Francophiles de Tickhill will be holding their brief AGM, where they will review the year and elect a committee to take the group forward for next year. Members will then enjoy the very French pastime of Pétanque, when members of the Worksop Pétanque Club will explain the game.
Pétanque, which originated in France, has a very long history dating back through the Middle Ages to ancient Rome and even before that to ancient Greece and Egypt, but it is still very much alive and well today in practically every town, city and village in France.
The group is keen to encourage new members – especially those that may consider joining the committee – and would love to have you.
There will be an opportunity to practise your French over tea and coffee by joining those members of the group who are experienced French speakers.
