Sonrisa – Very Much Alive on Friday 16th May at 7.30pm rounds off the Live & Local season of live shows at Ordsall Parish Hall in Church Lane, DN22 7TU.

It will be a lively finale to the 2024-2025 season. Sonrisa is an exciting rootsy acoustic trio playing original heartfelt songs that blend nylon Spanish guitar and infectious Latin-inspired rhythms with mellow flute and soulful vocals. A hybrid of many different styles, they create their own very distinctive sound. Sonrisa has been capturing the hearts of audiences throughout the UK with their passionate and electrifying live performances.

The trio comprises Kath on lead vocals and flute, Ant on acoustic guitar and vocals, and Tom on percussion. The show will particularly appeal to fans of Cuban, Spanish, and African dance music or world music.

The season has featured six shows, varying from folk with 54 North to a children’s Christmas show, Polaris the Snow Bear, and then favourites, Jonny and Lynnette (already rebooked for 31st January 2026), followed by a Murder Mystery, and The 309’s playing 40s and 50s music. Nobody can claim there has not been a varied programme.

Tickets at £16.00 for adults are still available if you hurry. Phone 07951 253343 or 01777 700220 or email thomas_peterf@hotmail.com to reserve tickets.

They hope to present another varied season from September through to June 2026. Details of these shows, supported by The Arts Council, local councils, and volunteers, will be available in late August.
