Members of the Major Oak Pop Choir performed popular songs, old and new, to help raise £2,106 for Aurora Wellbeing Centre in Worksop, a charity that supports people in Bassetlaw affected by cancer. The 80-strong ladies only choir entertained guests at a sold-out charity event, on Saturday 21st July at Retford Town Hall, singing a range of chart hits from the 60s to present day.
Formed in 2015, the ladies meet every week and enjoy friendship, fun and a shared love of singing. They perform regularly and have helped raise thousands of pounds for local charities.
Aurora Wellbeing Centre in Worksop, based in the old library on Memorial Avenue, offers a wide range of support services and therapies to help people diagnosed and recovering from cancer. The charity offers counselling, mindfulness and wellbeing sessions, advice on skin care, hair loss, professional beauty treatments as well as Tai Chi and Yoga.
