Kings Park Volunteer Gardeners

by | 8 July 2019 | Gardening Club, Retford

Have you been into Kings Park recently? If not, you’re missing a treat. The rose garden is looking fabulous, the flower beds have been newly planted with summer bedding plants and the grass is mown and looking beautiful. Have you ever wondered how many gardeners it takes to keep the park looking this lovely? Well, unbelievably, there are only two, sometimes three. That does mean that they don’t always have enough time to do all the things they would like to. But that’s where the volunteer gardeners step in and give a bit of help. Every Friday morning (weather permitting) they meet at 10.00am in the rose garden and work for a couple of hours before going off for a well-earned coffee and a chat. If you’re interested in joining them, just drop in and say ‘hello’ any Friday morning, or call Jocelyn on 01777 707191, who will be very pleased to hear from you. There are no special expertise or tools required.
