King coming to Ordsall!

Kevin, King of Egypt is the next Live & Local show in Ordsall Parish Hall, on 26th March at 7.30pm.

From comic, poet and ex-psychiatric nurse Rob Gee comes a fantastic one-person theatre / comedy / spoken word show. ‘Kevin, King of Egypt’ is a comedy about an unlikely friendship between an escaped mental health patient and a lost child. The narrative running through several interconnected stories is that the state of our mental health doesn’t have to define how decent we are.

Escaped psychiatric patient Kevin Haggerty is not pleased about his diagnosis, even less pleased about being sectioned under the Mental Health Act, and distinctly upset about being told he is not the reincarnation of the Pharaoh Rameses II. On his way to Egypt, via Tesco Express, he stumbles across the nemesis to all his plans: Millie – the lost child. Together they embark on a journey that changes both their lives forever.

Kevin’s story is immensely funny but also, at points, desperately sad.

The show is on Sunday 26th March at 7.30pm and tickets are on sale now at £14.00 (£10.00 student) from Peter or Alison on 01777 706433 or 01777 700220 or 07951 253343. The price includes a hot light meal.
