Jerry Green Dog Rescue

Jerry Green Dog Rescue strives to find homeless and unwanted dogs new homes with families who can give them a wonderful life. They do all they can for the dogs in their care, whether that is through training to ensure they have the best start in their new home or perhaps it’s through much needed medication or treatment. None of this would be possible without the charity’s supporters donating and helping them help those dogs in need. Support can come in many different forms, whether it’s through monetary donations, sharing their social media posts, volunteering or visiting their retail / charity shops; it all helps towards their main focus which is helping dogs in need.

In 2023 they were very excited to open charity shops in Retford, Gainsborough, Ashby and Brigg, as well as their second chance furniture and homeware store in Scunthorpe. This was an exciting venture, and each time a shop was opened they, of course, needed new volunteers who now play a crucial role in supporting the shops!

Becky, the Retford Shop Manager, said: “Our best kept secret is our incredible army of volunteers who give up their time and energy, we literally couldn’t do it without their kindness. We have volunteers from all walks of life and all ages, who do an incredible job. Reasons for helping out include wanting to give something back to the community, a great way to make friends and meet new people, gaining confidence or experience in a workplace for the future, as well as a love of dogs and animals.”

The charity is always on the lookout for new volunteers to join the team so please email them at volunteering@jerrygreendogs.org.uk.
