Jaguars raised funds for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice

Local businessman Stuart Dixon has raised £63,000 for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice since April, by letting the public and businesses cover the latest car in his collection with permanent, sponsored, coloured vinyl stickers.
Stuart, from Retford, has seven Jaguar XKs in his private collection, ranging from 285 BHP to 542 BHP, five are which are liveried in racing colours.

He drives them around the country to county shows, country fairs and Jaguar and classic car shows, as well as attending restaurant and garage ‘open days’. At the shows, people donate to sit in the cars and at some shows ride in them.

Stuart is set to launch a new project in November. He has bought another car to cover with stickers, but the stickers will be oblong so there will be no gaps and they will build two flags. The purple stripe over the centre of the car is for sponsors to put their logo. Stuart’s plan is to take this car and others across America’s Route 66 next year and raise £100,000 for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.
