Inner Wheel Club of Retford

The Inner Wheel Club of Retford recently welcomed Naomi Hardy as a speaker, who provided insight into yoga, meditation and relaxation. It was an enjoyable and interesting evening, leaving all attendees feeling noticeably more relaxed by the end of the session.

Some club members also attended an International Lunch, where Janice Holmes gave an illustrated talk about her charity work, through which she has taken thousands of bras to Gambia. As a professional bra fitter, she ensured that the women and girls received correctly fitting bras. Janice is also involved with the charity Smalls for All, which sends underwear via NPAC (National Police Aid Charity) to Gambia.

The club also held a Knit and Natter afternoon, making and knitting items for baby bundles, which are sent via NPAC to Malawi and Gambia. Meanwhile, the monthly walk and coffee morning at Idle Valley continues to be well attended, with even two happy dogs joining in this month.

The next meeting will be a social evening, and plans are underway for a quiz night at Clarborough Village Hall on Friday 9th May. Funds raised will go to MNDA (Motor Neurone Disease Association), the president’s chosen charity for the year. Those interested in attending are encouraged to get in touch.

The club meets on the second Thursday of every month at Ye Olde Bell, gathering at 5.30pm for a 6.00pm start. For more information, please contact retfordiwc@gmail.com.
