Retford Inner Wheel was very pleased to welcome District Chairman Mary Hind at its last meeting.
Mary gave an interesting account of her year as District Chairman, and it was good to hear of all the positive things that the club has done in terms of supporting her in Inner Wheel’s centenary year.
Members agreed to a donation in support of Firefly Patient Transport, which provides free transport to Sheffield Hospital Appointments for cancer patients. The coffee morning that was held at Grove Street Chapel recently was an informal fundraiser for the group’s international charities.
Members of the club and families and friends have supported NPAC (National Police Aid Charity) recently when a guided tractor and trailer ride round a local strawberry farm was followed by a delicious strawberry cream tea. It was a fascinating and interesting tour around the farm and an insight into growing strawberries and raspberries today.
