Congratulations to Retford Inner Wheel quiz team, who finished fourth out of 25 teams in the Inner Wheel District (East Midlands area) quiz – if only they had played their joker at a better time they would have won!
Congratulations also go to the multi-generational swimming team who swam magnificently in the Rotary Swimathon at Retford Leisure Centre. The money raised by the team will be going to the Motor Neurone Disease Association, Aurora Wellbeing Services and Bassetlaw Hospice.
The Club is also delighted to report on member Marion’s latest trip to Africa. There Marion was able to meet her new-born namesake, as the new mother received a baby bundle and a joy bag (both donated by Inner Wheel). In honour of the Inner Wheel member, who along with her husband Alec was present at the naming ceremony at a village in The Gambia, the new-born was also named Marion!
