Coming to Worksop on 25th May at Worksop Rugby Club is a music festival called Spongefest, hosted by local mental health charity In Sam’s Name. The growing festival will be celebrating the legacy of local legend and primary school teacher Sam ‘Sponge’ Fisher.

You can expect to enjoy many local artists and chart-topping bands throughout the day, who will bring a bright festival vibe and party atmosphere to the local community. There will be many different food vendors serving up delicious meals for festival goers to enjoy throughout the day.

Don’t forget to bring your In Sam’s Name or Spongefest bucket hats for the day – but don’t worry if you haven’t got one in your inventory as there will be an In Sam’s Name merchandise store to help you gear up for the great day out!

The event will be family friendly with children of all ages welcome. There are children’s activities throughout the day to make it an enjoyable and unforgettable experience for all who attend.

Spongefest is not just a celebration of Sam’s love of live music but also aims to raise awareness of mental mealth and to recognise the services that are on offer within the Bassetlaw area.

Be sure to like and follow the In Sam’s Name Facebook and Instagram pages to keep up with updates about the event; let’s make it an event Sam himself would be proud of!

In Sam’s Name Talking and Peer Support meetings take place at The Edge on Plantation Hill, Kilton, Worksop. Men’s and Ladies’ nights are held separately on alternate Thursdays.

The group holds a Walk and Talk on the last Sunday of each month, leaving at 11.00am from Kilton Forest Recreational Fields Car Park. For more information visit www.insamsname.co.uk.
