The expansion and refurbishment of Bassetlaw Hospice has started with the contractors now on site stripping out old fittings ready for the building work to begin. The work is expected to last for approximately six months.
The new extension will add two additional bedrooms, provide new overnight facilities for families and carers, create more space for Day Hospice and reorganise the service, office and staff facilities.
Whilst the work is underway all Hospice services have moved to St Michael’s View, Hallcroft Road, Retford, call 0115 955 5440 for further information. Ian Hall from the charity said: “Staff and volunteers worked incredibly hard to ensure the move was completed on schedule. It is good to see the long-planned work now beginning at the Hospice and it is thanks to the generosity and support of the local community that this project will help meet the future needs of palliative care for patients and families from Bassetlaw.”
