Here comes Ordsall!

by | 25 September 2018 | Music, Retford

The series of live shows in Ordsall Parish Hall, which have proved so popular over the previous decade, start up again for the 2018/19 season on Friday 5th October at 7.30pm with a Celtic Folk Duo, An Dha (meaning the two of us).
They bring the music of Scotland and Ireland to you with their enthralling blend of cello and violin. They write their own music for which they have won both awards and nominations. They describe their music as ‘Celtivation’ — “Celtivation is an attempt to distil the raw essence of what it is to truly play traditional Celtic folk music and as far as possible we have tried to re-create our ‘live’ sound without resorting to digital effects. Just two musicians, a fiddle and a cello.”

If you like an uncomplicated and lively sound come to Church Lane, Ordsall on 5th October. To book tickets call Peter on 01777 706433 or 07951 253343. Tickets, which include a light hot meal in the interval (always popular with audiences and adds to the ambience, dietary needs catered for), are £12.50 or £6.50 (child 16 and under). A licensed bar is available.
