Have yourself a merry little tipple & mince pie

by | 13 November 2020 | Local Charity, Retford, Worksop

This year has been difficult for everyone. It has been especially hard on children, not going to school or seeing their friends; for some school is a safe place. It’s hard to imagine how it was for children who were already in dangerous situations. Some were stuck at home with their abusers, with no one to confide in. During the height of the pandemic, over a third of Childline counselling sessions were with children who were struggling with their mental health, including some children who were experiencing suicidal thoughts.
Local supporters are not able to hold their NSPCC Christmas Fair at Ye Olde Bell Hotel this year, due to COVID-19 restrictions, but we all need to be ‘Here for Children’ in whatever way we can, through donations or local fundraising events. North Notts NSPCC would like to invite you to ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Tipple and Mince Pie’. Their wonderful bakers will be making mince pies that you usually would have been able to buy at the Christmas Fair. The minimum order for two people will include a bottle of mulled wine and four mince pies for £12.50, or for four people two bottles of mulled wine and eight mince pies for just £23.00. Why not also enjoy the ‘NSPCC Merry Little Christmas Carol Concert’ which is being hosted online on Thursday 10th December at 7.00pm? Tickets for this national event are available from www.nspcc.org.uk/merrylittlechristmas.
If you would like to order a ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Tipple and Mince Pie’ package please email Amy Lammie, amy@lammie.co.uk, between Thursday 26th November and Thursday 3rd December. You will be able to collect your orders from a central location on Thursday 10th December, in time to watch the ‘NSPCC Merry Little Christmas Carol Concert’ at 7.00 pm that evening, or to enjoy as a pre-Christmas treat?
As you will be aware, fundraising has been hard for all charities this year, and while Government funding has been gratefully received, the need for it is greater than ever. The NSPCC are ‘Here for Children’… will you help them to keep being here? Please support them and place an order, and more importantly, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas!
