This year’s Apple Day at East Markham, will be on Sunday 6th October, from 10.00am to 4.00pm and it’s the 21st annual event! The celebration will last all day, in and around the village hall and adjacent Heritage Orchard. The orchard has over 300 varieties of apples, and was launched in 1998 by celebrity gardeners Jon Stirland and Martin Fish.
East Markham’s Apple Day also features a special cider bar highlighting cider produced in the village, apple recipes, which includes free tasting tables, pick your own apples at bargain prices, an apple advice centre and dozens of stalls related to apples, fruit growing, general gardening and crafts. There will be refreshments and entertainment throughout the day. Refreshments and free entertainment (steel band, folk singers, morris dancing, steam engine, etc).
