A concert in the Chapel at Worksop College will be performed on Saturday 21st March by North Notts Chamber Choir, the College Chapel Choir and the Mountgarret Concert Orchestra under the direction of Timothy Uglow, Director of Music at Worksop College.
The programme features the magnificent Coronation Anthems by Handel, which have delighted audiences since they were first performed at the coronation of King George II and Queen Caroline in 1727. They include the sublime, stirring and well-known chorus Zadok the Priest. Also being sung in the evening’s concert will be a beautiful Stanford Magnificat and Hubert Parry’s much loved and inspiring anthem ‘I was glad’, a favourite at royal events and performed at the wedding of Prince William and Catherine in Westminster Abbey.
The concert starts at 7.30pm. Interval refreshments, included in the ticket price, will be served in the historic Great Hall. Tickets priced at £12.00 (£11.00 concessions, £6.00 children) are available from the college booking line on 01909 537100 or by emailing enquiries@wsnl.co.uk .
