The Grove WI held its Annual General Meeting on Thursday 16th October at Hallcroft Community Centre, where elections took place for the WI President and Committee. Barbara Henderson was re-elected as President and expressed how proud she was to continue serving the members. The remaining committee members were also re-elected, with all agreeing that the organisation runs like a ‘well-oiled machine’.
Barbara gave a recap of the past 12 months and thanked everyone who had contributed to the enjoyment of their meetings. It was noted how quickly the year had flown by since their special Centenary Meeting in 2024. Members then divided into two teams, Red and Blue, for the ever-popular indoor kurling competition. This year’s honours went to the Red Team. The event was filled with laughter and has now become a much-loved part of the AGM tradition.
The November meeting was a hands-on craft session led by regular crafters Pamela and Bruce, while December’s gathering will be the group’s annual Christmas Party. Grove WI always welcomes visitors and new members. Meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month at Hallcroft Community Centre, starting at 2.00pm.
