Good news & bad news…

Start with the bad news. Organisers of East Markham’s annual Apple Day, which usually happens on the first Sunday of October each year, have decided that it won’t be possible to hold it this year because the pandemic makes it impossible to maintain social distancing, etc, in a crowded village hall, small bar and busy Jubilee Room. So, Apple Day 2020 has been cancelled.
However, one thread of good news: this year the East Markham Heritage Orchard, always a feature of Apple Day, will be open for ‘pick your own’ on both Saturday and Sunday, 3rd and 4th October, from 10.00am to 4.00pm. There are 300 varieties to choose from!
And for those that like to plan things well in advance, Apple Day 2021 will be on Sunday 3rd October 2021!
