Give hope to a bereaved child this Christmas

Every 22 minutes in the UK a child is bereaved of a parent. The Children’s Bereavement Centre, a local registered charity, is passionate about supporting children and young people across Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire that are suffering life changing trauma due to the death or terminal illness of someone important in their lives.

In the 17 years since the charity began, they have supported thousands of bereaved children, helping them to come to terms with the trauma they have faced and to build coping strategies to move forward through life.
The service, which is offered completely free of charge to families, is unique and tailor-made to each individual, and the children are encouraged to express themselves through many activities as part of their support.
We all remember cuddling our favourite bear when we were young and the feelings of security, safety, and comfort it brought.

All the children accessing support are offered a special bear to take away with them to talk to about their feelings and emotions. A bear can ease stress, build confidence, soothe tears, and can help a child handle fear, anxiety and the unknown. It is an important part of the range of support provided to help children cope with their grief and bring hope for a brighter future.

Fund a bear to bring hope for grieving children this Christmas
A donation of £6.00, which could cover the cost of a bear, will support the charity’s Christmas Fund a Bear Appeal. Your donation will help to fund specialist support that will help bring comfort to a child at one of the most devastating times in their life. It will help to make the future more bearable and bring hope to grieving children this Christmas.
Together we can make sure they get the specialist support they need. This year the Children’s Bereavement Centre are proud to announce they are taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge. This means that they have already secured pledges from other organisations and your donation is match funded. So, for every £6.00 donation you make as part of the campaign the charity will receive another £6.00. To enable the charity to take advantage of these extra funds please donate between 1st and 8th December when the challenge is open by visiting
