September 2022 is the 200th anniversary of the death of Georgiana, 4th Duchess of Newcastle. She is the focus of the next event at Milton Mausoleum – a celebratory service at 2.30pm on Sunday 25th September. There will be extracts read from the Duke’s diaries, giving an insight into Georgiana’s extraordinary life.
Each year, from May to September, the Mausoleum is open on Sunday afternoons from 2.00pm to 4.00pm when volunteers will give you a tour of the building and share the story of the 4th Duke and Duchess of Newcastle.
Why not take along members of your groups for a tour of the building, with refreshments, at pre-arranged times? Volunteers are happy to welcome you to this historic place.
The latest fundraising for ‘Unrestored Windows’ is now running and the Friends are grateful for donations received so far.
Events planned for the remainder of this year:
- 25th September: Georgiana Memorial Service, 2.30pm, followed by tea / coffee and cake
- 25th September: Sunday opening season closes
- 12th November: Christmas and Craft Fayre, 10.00am to 4.00pm
- 3rd December: Carols by Candlelight, 4.00pm to 5.00pm
