The North Leverton Windmill Trust has now been in existence for 10 years, with the family fun weekend being the main fundraising event of the year. Proceeds from this event go to paying expenses such as the annual insurance and any surplus will go direct to the windmill repair funds. And my, how things have changed in those 10 years.
The open weekend is on Saturday 15th and 16th September from 12.00pm to 4.00pm on both days. We hope to surpass last year’s event and have lots for all the family to see and do. Planned attractions will include; Morris Dancing, Dog Show, Hawks and Owls, vehicles of all shapes, sizes and ages, have a go archery, bouncy castle, face-painting, local arts and crafts stalls, local honey and relishes and more. Many delicious food and drink refreshments will be available on the day, including; Madam Crêpe, the Windmill Pizza Oven and BBQ, coffee and cakes and a bar for those not driving. And of course, the windmill will be the star attraction, doing what it does best. Admission and parking will be free and on Saturday evening, we will have local singers and bands playing and further refreshments available. Please check out our Facebook page for further details in the next couple of weeks.
