Exciting times ahead for Retford Hub!

It is all change at Retford Hub, Churchgate, Retford.
After starting it six years ago, the founders Chris and Louise Daniels are moving on to progress their other business interests and successors have been found to carry the community project forward. This is a big thank you from them to all those who have supported the venture – the artists and artisans with their wonderful arts and crafts, the incredible team of volunteers, current and past, the local business organisations and businesspeople who have played a part its success and all the fabulous shoppers, café regulars, class attendees and visitors. Many friendships have been made and many memories created.
The Hub is for those wishing to purchase gifts, locally made arts and crafts, tourist information and local souvenirs, local books, art materials, local food, craft classes, pilgrim museum, café, and the artists’ studios.
They started on Charter Day 2015 and since then, with a regular footfall to the shop of around 11,000 a year (pandemic accepting!), they have managed to keep trading, offering what has become a ‘hub’ for the town centre. Their original aim was to be the tourist Information for Retford, which they have done and more, now being home to the Bassetlaw Pilgrim Gallery came on stream, having sold around £150,000 of local art and artisan products, returning money to local people, run countless educational classes and provided a home to Retford’s vibrant art community.
The Hub is starting a new chapter and more details will follow from the new owners, but please continue to support it as it evolves.
