Eaton Open Gardens event was held on Sunday 2nd July with a church service held in the morning and then 12 gardens were open for visitors in the afternoon. The gardens ranged from large extensive flower and vegetable gardens to small compact cottage gardens with some being landscaped recently and others had developed over many years.
A very relaxed sunny afternoon was enjoyed by many local people. Cakes, ice-cream and drinks were available in one of the gardens with preserves’ and plants’ stalls in two other gardens. There was an interesting display of classic cars bringing back many memories. Bassetlaw Hospice volunteers were present to talk about the various services which they provide for local people.
Proceeds from the afternoon, totaling £1,227, will be shared equally between Bassetlaw Hospice, Eaton Church and future Eaton events.
Many thanks to all those involved in organising and helping and the many local people who came to the event and enjoyed the afternoon.
