The October meeting of East Markham WI was well attended by members and visitors, with three of the visitors signing up as members. Business covered notices from County and the events being organised for members in November and December. In December there is a Christmas Lunch at the Queens Hotel in East Markham on 6th and Christmas wreath making in the Village Hall on the afternoon of 13th December.
The speaker for the evening was Tanya Hutson, talking on skincare. Tanya told members that skincare was important regardless of age, and asked if anyone knew what was in the creams and lotions used by so many.
She explained that many of the branded products on offer contain synthetic and often toxic ingredients, which are not necessarily good for our skins. Recently she had changed her skincare routine and make-up, using only naturally made, non-toxic products and since using them she has noticed an improvement in the condition of her skin. She believes that the use of natural products could help many women to improve their skin condition.
After the meeting closed members had the opportunity to talk to Tanya and order some UK-made natural, non-toxic products.
In November the speaker was forced to cancel, and was replaced with a social evening where members could make small craft items.
The December meeting will be the Christmas Party night, with a buffet provided by members, party games and a Secret Santa.
