Following the immense success of last year’s concert by the very popular, all female Major Oak Pop Choir, St John the Baptist Church at East Markham is staging a second concert.

‘Songs from Movies and Musicals – The Sequel’ is to be held on Saturday 29th June at 7.00pm. Tickets, which are already being snapped up fast, cost £10.00 each and are limited by the size of the church so don’t delay.

Call Joan on 01777 871234 or 07484 631996, or buy from the Queen’s Hotel or Headlines Hairdressers, or in the church after a service or at the Friday Village Coffee (10.00am to 12.00pm every Friday).
Later in the month flowers will be on display in profusion on the weekend of 22nd and 23rd June at the beautiful 14th century church.

Village and local organisations will be showcasing their skills at flower arranging for everyone to enjoy. The church will be open 1.00pm to 5.00pm on the Saturday, and from after the midday service until 5.00pm on the Sunday. Refreshments and other activities will be available. Entry is free although visitors will be invited to donate, in cash or by card, to help support and maintain the church.

Everyone will, of course, be welcome to join the 10.30am service at which newly-appointed Assistant Archdeacon Richard Kellett will be presiding and preaching, and celebrating the life of St John the Baptist.
